About us

Dussmann KulturKindergarten, a company division of the Dussmann Group, operates corporate childcare facilities throughout Germany focusing on extended hours of childcare, and arts based, dual language education.

At our Kindergarten in Marzahn, in cooperation with the UKB Hospital, we care for 80 children from the age of eight weeks until school entry. Our opening hours are 6am until 9pm, and childcare is offered every second weekend.

Responsibilities

• Provide pedagogically based care for children in their development and education

• Respond sensitively to racial and/or ethnic diversity, cultural values and behaviours

• Interact attentively, affectionately and respectfully with children

• Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum based on the Berlin Standards Program, involving student observation, documentation and use of portfolio’s (Sprachlerntagebuch)

• Facilitate regular parent/guardian communication and conferences to discuss orientation, transitions and developmental goals

• Support organizational mission, philosophies, values, goals and policies towards parent/guardians and co-workers

• Participate actively in the team through communication, collaboration and curriculum planning

Qualifications

In order to be considered for this position, you must meet German licensing requirements, including:

• Bachelor of Early Childhood Education OR Associate of Early Childhood Education and two years paid experience in a licensed child care facility Qualifications must be from an accredited educational institution

• Experience and qualifications in art, music, theater or dance education would be advantageous

• Certificate in first aid procedures / Medical examination confirming physical and mental ability to work with children

• German language skills/ willingness to learn German

• A genuine passion for caring for children, as well as a strong set of communication and interpersonal skills including tact, patience and courtesy

• Ability to be flexible in assignment and work hours to meet the needs of the facility

• Commitment and ability to work in a team
